19A - Idea Napkin No. 2
  1. Who I am - I am a soon-to-be graduate from the University of Florida with a major in Business Administration as well as a minor in Event Management. Most of my experience in business comes from my four years of college and six years of customer service experience in different businesses. I aspire to be a business owner one day. If this were a real product that was launching and did succeed I imagine it would become a full-time job of mine to ensure that it was staying up to date and running smoothly in order to generate revenue.
  2. What I am offering to customers - What I have to offer to customers is a simple solution to long lines at the drive-thrus and long waits at restaurants. I will create an app that offers real time updates of local drive-thru lines and restaurant wait times, quicker alternatives to your desired restaurant and much more.
  3. Who I am offering it to - This app will be catered to the fast-paced, always busy individual that eats out regularly for the sake of convenience. Since it is a technology-based app it will be geared toward people under 70 years old that are more tech savvy. Customers will, of course, have to be able and willing to drive so will have to be at least 16 years old.
  4. Why do they care? - customers will pay me money to use this service because I am creating value for them through the saving of time. This app would also relieve stress for its users when it's time for them to pick up a quick meal during their already very busy schedules.
  5. My core competencies - I think what sets me apart from others is the ability to come up with a solution to such a wide-reaching issue. My ability to perfect the solution and adapt to customer needs as I see fit will allow me to stand out from the rest.
I believe that these elements of my solution fit together for the most part. The one problem I am currently trying to solve is coming up with more value-creating components for the app that will warrant customers wanting to pay money for the services that this app provides.I do believe it is the correct solution to the problem but I will find it difficult to execute perfectly and make it stand out as something that truly will create value in people's lives.

One main point I took away from the feedback was to add more value for my potential customers so I added in the idea of the app offering wait times for any restaurant in the user's area, not just for drive-thru lines. This will help to reach a wider customer segment. I have also put a lot of consideration into how the wait time will be as precise as possible to help the app stand out among the rest.

  1. Hey Kristen, well done on this assignment. I like the added value of including other restaurants to the app. I do still wonder if having users pay for the app is the best way to go about it, I have not purchased an app for a phone or made any in-app purchases in the past ~10 years. I also am wondering how you plan to get the data on the wait times, would you have the businesses enter those themselves or some other method? It sounds like your business experience will help get restaurants on board with your application. I agree that adding more functionality to the app might be necessary, especially if you plan to charge for the app itself.
