8A - Solving the Problem 

  1. The opportunity that I have discovered is the opportunity to make drive-thru's less of a hassle for customers at any restaurant with a drive-thru service. The problem is that people spend their time driving to a specific restaurant only to find out that the drive-thru line is longer than expected and that they don't have time to wait in it. This leaves customers hungry, thirsty and irritated. This can also be an issue for the restaurant that is losing out on a sale. 
  2. My solution for this unmet need is to create an app that would offer real-time updates of drive-thru wait times. The app would give customers an idea of when the best time to go to a certain restaurant is and would offer up alternative suggestions for customers that are in a hurry and need somewhere to eat quickly.

15A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior #2 Summarize: All three of my potential customers who I interviewed said that there was no current alternative to the service that the app would provide. The only alternative right now is to continue using the drive-thru as they always had been. However, should another app pop up that wants to compete with the Drive-thru Buddy app they identified factors that would sway them one way or the other. The biggest factor being price and second being quality or effectiveness of the app. One potential customer said, if one app clearly stood out as having superior quality and effectiveness then price would not matter and that would be the app that customer would purchase. If all the competitors had about the same quality then my interviewees all agreed they would more than likely purchase the cheapest one. 28A - Exit Strategy 1) I plan to sell my app after about 5 years of perfecting the layout and gaining success in the industry, so that I can move on to my next business venture. This is not something I see as a long term position for me, rather a way to work on my entrepreneurship and business skills, so that I can move on to something that I am truly passionate about. 2) I plan to sell my business in a relatively short period of time, because I believe that the app will either reach success or prove to be a failure rather quickly. While, this app is something that interests me, it is not a true passion of mine to run an app and that is why I would like to sell it in the early stages.
