15A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior #2 Summarize: All three of my potential customers who I interviewed said that there was no current alternative to the service that the app would provide. The only alternative right now is to continue using the drive-thru as they always had been. However, should another app pop up that wants to compete with the Drive-thru Buddy app they identified factors that would sway them one way or the other. The biggest factor being price and second being quality or effectiveness of the app. One potential customer said, if one app clearly stood out as having superior quality and effectiveness then price would not matter and that would be the app that customer would purchase. If all the competitors had about the same quality then my interviewees all agreed they would more than likely purchase the cheapest one. The transaction for every customer would happen online in the app store on their phone using a credit or debit card as payment. The current plan is to ...

14A - Halfway Reflection 1.) One skill I've used to keep up with the requirements of this course is Time Management. There are a lot of assignments due each week and it can become overwhelming if you save them all until the last minute to complete. However, getting assignments done early has allowed me more time to work on each assignments and made it much easier to keep up with assignments. 2.)There have been a couple times when I felt like I was too tired or too busy to get my assignments done and almost decided to skip an assignment. I just had to remind myself that if I focused hard enough that I could get the assignment done quickly and would not have to sacrifice my grade in the class. The fact that most of the assignments build on top of each other is another reason I've realized that it's important to keep up with the assignments and deadlines. I definitely feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude in the last two months. 3.) 3 Tips: 1- Manage your tim...
12A - Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1 Summary of Interviews - I chose the college student market segment within my target market. The three college students I interviewed all attend the University of Florida, two have part-time jobs and one is a pre-med student who volunteers on campus. Needless to say they are all very busy and crunched for time and money. All three agreed that they are in need of a quick meal option and have trouble with long lines at drive-thru's especially when they are in a hurry to get to class, work or a meeting. They all stated that they become aware of their need when it hits lunchtime (between 12 and 2) and dinner time (between 5 and 7). Both of the students with jobs explained that because of their work schedule their need arrives on their way to and from work. One student relies on the same fast food restaurant everyday out of habit even if she is late to work, while the other two rely on google to look for the closest drive-thru restaurant with w...
11A - Idea Napkin No. 1 Who I am - I am a soon-to-be graduate from the University of Florida with a major in Business Administration as well as a minor in Event Management. Most of my experience in business comes from my four years of college and six years of customer service experience in different businesses. I aspire to be a business owner one day and should this solution of mine succeed I imagine it becoming a full-time job of mine to ensure it stays up to date and running smoothly in order to generate revenue.  What I am offering to customers - What I have to offer to customers is a simple solution to long lines at the drive-thru of any restaurant. I will create an app that offers real time updates of local drive-thru lines, quicker alternatives to your desired restaurant and much more. Who I am offering it to - This app will be catered to the fast-paced, always busy individual that utilizes drive-thru lines regularly in order to save time and money. Since it is a techno...

9A - Testing the Hypothesis Part 2  Interview #1 - My first interviewee is a UF student who says she regularly uses the drive-thru at Starbucks on 13th street. While, she says she does waste a lot of her time sitting in the drive-thru line she doesn't think this app would be of much use to her because she likes to drink her coffee at the same time every day and refuses to go elsewhere for her coffee. Her loyalty to Starbucks and unwillingness to visit the store when it is least crowded make her an unlikely customer even though she is someone that would like to reduce the wait times in drive-thru lines. Interview #2 - My second interviewee is a coworker of my sister's, a woman in her late 50's who says she always seems to be on a tight schedule which makes fast food drive-thru lines her easiest option when it comes to meals. While she is excited about the idea of a product that would reduce the amount of time she spends in a drive-thru line she admits to not being the...
8A - Solving the Problem  The opportunity that I have discovered is the opportunity to make drive-thru's less of a hassle for customers at any restaurant with a drive-thru service. The problem is that people spend their time driving to a specific restaurant only to find out that the drive-thru line is longer than expected and that they don't have time to wait in it. This leaves customers hungry, thirsty and irritated. This can also be an issue for the restaurant that is losing out on a sale.  My solution for this unmet need is to create an app that would offer real-time updates of drive-thru wait times. The app would give customers an idea of when the best time to go to a certain restaurant is and would offer up alternative suggestions for customers that are in a hurry and need somewhere to eat quickly.
